KOS
An excellent choice of beautiful beaches and evening entertainment.
Scattered around the island are architectural influences from the blue domed churches to the Castle of the Knights.
Less mountainous than many of the other islands Kos is perfect for cycling round.

The beaches are one of Kos' greatest assets with Kefalos and Tingaki being amongst the best.
The more adventurous might like to take one of the popular excursions to the other Greek islands such as Rhodes, Patmos and Kalymnos, or over to Bodrum on the Turkish mainland.
Eating and Drinking
Moussaka and Horiatiki salata or village salad will satisfy most appetites. Sample some 'mezes', a selection of cooked meats, cheese and olives washed down with a glass of ouzo.
Local Interest and Culture
In Kos town the 14th century Castle of the Knights overlooks the colourful harbour and elegant palm-lined avenues.
Take a trip to the Byzantine fortress at Pili.
The island is also said to be the home to Hippocrates and there is a medical sanctuary dedicated to the Asklipos (God of medicine) just outside of Kos Town..
Beaches
The beaches at Kos are beautiful, long and sandy.
At Kardamena the main beach is wide and gently shelving.
The beach at Kos Town is in long, narrow sand and pebble strips.
Lambi beach is Kos Town's largest and most popular, located 5km away.
The sleepy hillside village of Kefalos overlooks the Kamari beach, a long double curve of coarse sand and pebble. Paradise, Hawaii and Magic beaches are all within easy reach by taxi.
